COB - IMS Department continues to work to deliver better service to all employees while simultaneously addressing staff productivity and most importantly the security of the City of Birmingham’s IT Infrastructure.
Currently the vast majority of IMS Department support requests are for resetting passwords for many of our Enterprise Applications that are used by employees across the city. The amount of time and cost to handle these request are overwhelming to our staff. Also, our Citywide Security Assessment and Policy review indicated the current call-in method for resetting passwords leaves the city infrastructure vulnerable to internal and external cyber-attacks BECAUSE we are unable to validate users.
We now have an automated solution for “Password Reset” to provide better service to all employees, increase productivity of our IMS Staff and establish better security procedures for the city. We will make this change on Tuesday 5/9/2017.
There are two methods of changing your password. You can go to https://cobreact.birminghamal.gov and select
to reset your password from work or home or ……..

the easiest was to change your password at work is to simply click the link “FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD. CLICK HERE” as seen in the picture below. Please call the Helpdesk to walk you thru this at 254-2989 if you have challenges.
